When I first met Rachel in 2023 while a Virginia resident, I was curious why she spent so much time shaping, buffing, and filing my nails. At first, I thought she might just work more slowly than other techs I’d seen, but I soon realized that her meticulous attention to detail made all the difference. I’ve never had a manicure last as long (or gotten as many compliments) as one done by Rachel. Tomorrow marks 3 weeks since my last gel appointment, and every nail is still perfectly intact – well, minus part of a thumb, which I grazed while chopping onions with a dull knife while on vacation. Totally my fault.

Rachel also has an amazing eye for color and design. If you’re ever unsure what shade to pair with your idea or need help pulling together a look, she always knows how to make it work with perfectly paired colors. Her instincts are spot-on.

Rachel is not only excellent at her job, but she’s very kindhearted person. She often remembers little things from past appointments, even things I’ve forgotten, and always makes the experience feel personal and relaxed. One time I mentioned wanting to try soju and talked about how much I like lychee. Lo and behold, she surprised me with a bottle at the end of my next appointment. Who does that?!

While I haven’t been as frequent a customer lately for financial reasons, I will ALWAYS go out of my way to book with Rachel when I’m ready for my next manicure, and you should too! If me driving from Rockville during rush hour doesn’t convince you she’s worth it, I don’t know what will.

Rachel booked out months in advance at her last place, and now that she’s running her own place, I can only imagine how quickly her calendar is filling up. Get in while you can, this gem won’t stay hidden for long!
